Who I am

Hi, I'm Ammar Salmi. I was born in 1986; year of the tiger. I'm a diverse IT tech by trade, a half-time poet, and a legendary screenwriter in the making. I got my baccalaureate in electronics in 2003, and earned my diploma in computer science from the university of Houari Boumedian in 2006. I fell in love with computers and everything IT-related when I was a small kid playing at his father's office on weekends.

My resolve

I've been royally screwed on a genetic level. I'm a haemophiliac. A medical condition that even queen Victoria suffered from. Recently, I've decided to turn my life around and started chasing my dreams. Within the span of two years I lost half of my weight and went from 140 kilogram man, held captive by his wheelchair, and imprisoned by a mind which finds only excuses, to 73 (and going down) man on a cane with a mind for nothing but solutions.

Stuff I did

I've written poems and plays since I was no older than 9 years old. I've got hooked on the substance of screenwriting in my mid 20's. I coded a couple of programs and a game. I've made a couple of poems in Arabic, some shortscripts in English, and a few programs in Delphi, Java, JavaScript, and ActionScript. I was fortunate enough to have one of my shortscipts produced into a short-film which has been recently selected as an official entry in the Hoboken International Film Festival.
